Submissions
If you are interested in submitting music to Earth Mantra Netlabel for consideration, please read through the following information carefully first:
-
When you submit a release for consideration, please be prepared we
might have to to say 'no'.
We are musician-owned and run, and so we empathize with you and we certainly don't
enjoy saying no. But the reality is we cannot possibly release everything that
is submitted to us, so we have to be selective. We don't enjoy this fact, but
there is no way around it, unfortunately.
-
We are focused on ambient and closely related genres ONLY.
Notice that this does NOT include any club-oriented music, so if your music is geared in any
way towards the club/dance scene, it does not match our format. Likewise, if your music
has traditional beats (hand percussion notwithstanding), then your music probably does
not match our format either. Please don't waste our time or yours by submitting music
that is not ambient, especially since there are many other netlabels around that focus
on other genres.
-
We can evaluate only complete albums. In other words,
sending us an incomplete demo or a random smattering of tracks or an album that is
mixed down but not yet mastered is not useful and
gives us no basis on which to evaluate your submission.
-
We release music ONLY under the Creative Commons "Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported"
license. If you wish to release your music under a different license, unfortunately
we cannot help you.
-
In general, releases should be at least 50 minutes of music, although we prefer
releases that are even longer.
-
We receive many submissions each month. While we would like to give personal attention to each one, we
only have 24 hours in a day just like you. Therefore, we cannot promise a personal
reply to all submissions. We will do our best, but no promises.
- We will keep any information or music you send to us confidential and will not share it with anyone. If you mail in a cd, however, we cannot return it if we decide not to pursue your release.
If you are still interested in submitting your release for consideration, you can either snail mail us an audio CDR with the entire release on it, or provide a location that the entire album can be downloaded (in FLAC format ONLY).
If you mail a cdr, please make sure it is in standard redbook cd format (which essentially means it will play in a standard car stereo or non-computer music cd player). Then contact us to request the mailing address to which to send the cd.
If you want us to download your album, please make sure it is composed of lossless FLAC files, and is zipped up into a single zip file. Once you've done this, then please contact us and let us know where we can download the zip file from. Free download services are acceptable, as long as we are not required to establish an account to download the zip file.
